Reflections on Salvo Ministry
I have just taken up the role as Divisional Mission Resource Secretary in the East Victoria Division of Melbourne. As such it affords me to visit various corps and centers and share in their ministry. Today as I worshipped with my friends at Mooroolbark, they used some songs which took me back to some days of ministry at Craigieburn, where we ( Julie and I) planted a corps and stayed there for 12 years. 12 years is a long time in one place and it is natural that it will form a huge part of my perspective on ministry as well as my life. This blog entry is in no way intended to speak of the current Craigieburn ( Salvos 3064 ), for really .. I have no idea what is happening there right now.... but rather what I have learned since leaving 3064. And I guess what I am willing to confess today about missing from/about it.
